Audience: Beginner to intermediate

This workshop provides an introduction to Ireland’s social wasps. During this workshop we will look at the features used to identify Ireland’s social wasp species, as well as their life cycles, habitats and where to find them. This will be followed by fieldwork in Brú na Bóinne National Park and surrounding areas to test your identification skills. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their knowledge.

Lunch: Please bring a lunch.

Clothing: Sturdy walking boots. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor terrain.

Health & Safety: Please be mindful that this workshop includes an element of teaching outdoors. Waterproof clothing and good walking footwear are essential. As a rule of thumb, it is generally expected that any participants who sign up for a workshop that involves spending time in the outdoors will own and bring the appropriate outdoor clothing. A risk assessment for this event has been completed and participants are asked to listen carefully to the safety briefings that are delivered on the day.
